The Imperfect Christian

We often look at Christians as perfect people, born again, saved, sanctified, full of the holy spirit and without sin, unable to, cannot or should not make mistakes….

That’s a lot! No one is perfect.

I definitely have made mistakes and a lot. But that does not mean I do not love God. The bible says seven times will a righteous man fall and seven times will he rise.. .Proverbs 24:16. This means we should not remain on the ground after falling.

Falling means making a mistake, knowingly or unknowingly committing a sin.

We should get back up again. That is, make every effort to return to God and do His will once we realize our mistakes.

We are all imperfect people whether Christians or non Christians. However, our imperfections are made perfect when we get back up after falling and we turn to God for help and mercy.

Christians are not perfect people that is why they follow Christ and are called Christians. It is in Christ that we can be perfect. Christians are imperfect people following Christ to have their imperfections pruned away.

That is why you have some Christian falling back into sin. Such imperfect Christians who go back to God and stay with God have their imperfections slowly and steadily shed away….its a process.

This is the same for anyone who turns to God, your imperfections are slowly taken away and you have a renewed way of life.

I am not perfect but I love the Lord and serve him. As I yield to him, he makes me perfect. You might think you are the worst sinner in the world or a disobedient Christian or a backslider, or a lukewarm Christian, however, God makes you perfect as you follow him.

As you follow Christ, God takes all your imperfections away and makes you into what He wants you to be.
Have a wonderfully blessed day!
